Chapter History

On February 4, 1989 the Iota Phi chapter was established at NC State University. It is the 211th link of 250 across the country. Since then, our chapter has been ranked in the top 10 chapters in the nation and has repeatedly received honors and awards from International Office. Our Iota Phi ladies averaged over 32 hours each. In 2013 and 2014, the chapter was named "MVP" at NC Zeta Day, the highest honor bestowed to a collegiate chapter in the state. In 2015, we won the Mission Award, Collegiate-Alumnae Relations Award, and Outstanding Philanthropy Event.

On campus, our sisters continually receive awards from NC State's Department of Fraternity | Sorority Life. In 2014, we were awarded the Service Award. In 2010 and 2013, our chapter was named NC State's Sorority of the Year. One of our favorite weeks to celebrate is Sigma Chi Fraternity's annual "Derby Days," a week full of various events focused on raising money for its philanthropy. The Iota Phi chapter has won the competition for the past 15 years that it has competed! As NC State revamps its entire Greek Village, we look forward to moving into our new house that will be built!
